Dear Families,
As always, it has been another busy and exciting term filled with learning, trips, performances and memorable experiences for our children.
Firstly, I would like to thank all of the children for the respect and kindness they showed towards our Year 6 pupils during SATs week. The calm and supportive atmosphere around the school was greatly appreciated. I would also like to congratulate our Year 6 children for the mature and positive way they approached their tests. They should all feel incredibly proud of themselves, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements later in the year.
We also enjoyed a fantastic evening last night at the Derngate Theatre in Northampton, where some of our Year 4 children performed alongside pupils from across the INMAT schools. This celebration of singing, which INMAT has proudly run for the past three years, was a wonderful occasion. The children sang beautifully and represented the school superbly with their enthusiasm, confidence and excellent behaviour. I am sure all of the parents and families who attended would agree that it was a truly joyous event.
Meanwhile, some of our Year 6 children are currently enjoying their residential trip to Govilon in Wales. This nature-inspired, adventurous experience provides children with memories that will last a lifetime, from waterfall walking to watching the sunset over the Welsh mountains. Staff have reported that the children are embracing every opportunity with enthusiasm — and thoroughly enjoying the food too! We look forward to welcoming them back on Friday and hearing all about their adventures.
Back at school, the Year 6 children who remained here have been fully immersed in their “Pleasure Park” topic. They have studied the park in depth before designing and presenting their own proposals for improvements. There have been some incredibly creative and thoughtful ideas. This afternoon, they also enjoyed a well-deserved trip to the bowling alley, complete with plenty of friendly rivalry and fun.
The final term of the year is always a bittersweet one as children begin preparing to move to their next year group and, for our oldest pupils, the next stage of their education. Over the coming weeks, we will be supporting all children carefully with these transitions to ensure they feel confident and excited about what lies ahead.
In the meantime, I would like to wish you and your families a restful and enjoyable half term, with the promise of some warmer and sunnier weather on the way.
Kind regards,
Mrs Walker
