What a wonderfully busy and productive eight weeks we’ve had this autumn term! The children have been working incredibly hard, and it’s been a joy to see how much they are enjoying their learning across the school.
We were very fortunate to be offered a free pantomime performance of Beauty and the Beast for our Year 3–5 pupils — it was a fantastic experience, full of laughter and excitement, and the children absolutely loved it. Our Year 6 sadly missed out but understood that they have many things to look forward to, just for them, later in the academic year.
Looking ahead to next term, our Year 4 children are eagerly anticipating their residential trip to Whitmore Lakes, where they’ll take part in a range of outdoor adventure activities — a brilliant opportunity for building confidence, teamwork, and independence. We’re also thrilled to announce that Skiing Paralympic athlete and sports star Sean Rose, will be visiting our school to speak to the children about his journey and achievements.
A quick but heartfelt plea from our PTA: our children absolutely love the events that the PTA organises — from school discos to our magical Winter Wonderland — but these can only happen with your help. Unfortunately, our volunteer sign-up sheet in the office currently has zero names. Please, if you’re able to spare some time, do consider volunteering. Even a small contribution of time makes a big difference to what we can offer the children. The next PTA meeting will be held on Monday 4th November at 5.30pm, and we would love to see as many of you there as possible. We offer coffee and tea!
Finally, I’m off to see the fabulous entries in our Pumpkin Carving Competition — I can’t wait to see all the creative designs! Wishing you all a wonderful, restful, and well-deserved half-term break.
Warm regards,
Mrs Walker
