Supporting Children with SEND

Sometimes children present with learning difficulties or disabilities that make it harder for them to learn than most children of the same age. Children with such needs may require additional or different support from that provided to other children.

At Kettering Park Junior Academy, we are very proud of our inclusive ethos. Our school community is made up of children with a wide range of abilities, and we believe that children with SEND should be given every opportunity to thrive and succeed. We foster a holistic approach that supports children academically, socially and emotionally, helping them make good progress and preparing them for the next stage of their educational journey.

How We Support Children with SEND

We closely monitor the progress of all children with SEND to ensure they achieve their full potential, just like every other child in our school. Support may include:

  • Individual Education Plans, where appropriate
  • Regular meetings between teachers and parents
  • Specialist resources and tailored provision
  • Access to specialist support services
  • Targeted interventions to meet individual needs

Children with SEND are fully included in all aspects of school life, including after-school clubs, educational visits and performances.
